First, Malik’s former bandmate Louis Tomlinson mocked a photo that producer Naughty Boy posted of Malik, who abruptly left the band in March.
Malik took the bait. “Remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?” he tweeted in reference to criticism he received when he changed his Twitter handle from @ZaynMalik1D to @ZaynMalik.
The twit-for-tat came on the same day that Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher dumped some unsolicited scorn on Malik for leaving One Direction to become, as Malik put it, a “normal” 22-year-old.
“It’s a strange thing for that lad to have done at that age,” the curse-loving Gallagher, 47, told Rolling Stone.
“You might have wanted to be a normal 22-year-old, but you won’t want to be a normal 25-year-old. (In 1D), you can be f------ anything that moves and gettin’ paid half a million dollars a week, you f------’ idiot.”
Gallagher’s advice and curses continued as he referenced his brother and former bandmate Liam and his expensive battle with the former journalist who bore his love child.
“F-----’ get a good accountant because life is very f-----’ long,” said Gallagher.
“My advice to anybody is to play the f-----’ long game. Success doesn’t last forever.”
